Meet Alienor Sandt, our sports osteopath, paediatric and pregnancy specialist and sports therapist!

Alienor, tell us about yourself and what you specialise in at The Art of Healing?

“I'm the paediatric specialist at the Art of Healing but I also have an interest in treating sports injuries and sports therapy, as well as your everyday back and neck pains! I am French and I moved to the UK as I always wanted to work in London to be able to work with and treat a wide variety of clients.

While I'm fully trained in the roster of osteopathic and musculoskeletal techniques we employ at the Art of Healing, such as acupuncture, dry needling, shockwave and manual therapy, I also enjoy treating pregnant women and older patients using a lot of special techniques which include a tailored, softer approach such as cranial and fascial tissue work – although I'm also just as capable of the stronger “clicking” techniques osteopaths can be famous for!

What inspired you professionally to become an osteopath?

“Well, I was always very interested in how things worked, and how the body worked. I have always been very interested in biology for example, when learning how things tend to go wrong with the body I was keen to learn and help people overcome and get better. I liked the idea of only using my hands and manual therapy to help patients overcome their pain, rather than taking medication.

I play a wide variety of sports and was actually seeing an osteopath myself when I had been injured – and it spiked my interest of becoming an osteopath myself.”

What makes you so passionate about working at The Art of Healing? What makes the cllinic special?

“I would say because we are a small team, we all help and encourage each other and without sounding too cringey… we all bond really well, a special bond! We all do have different approaches and techniques when it comes to treating our clients but all with the same intention of outcome for the patients we see and help.”

Tell us a fact about yourself that your patients might not know about you?

“I love learning new languages! Some patients find it hard to guess where I am from, they can never tell from my accent! And a fun fact would be I won medals in Irish dancing competitions when I was younger! Unfortunately, I don’t really do it much now, but I loved it years back!”
